Clash Plus

Top pick

A good starting point for your first setup. After installation, import a subscription on the Config page, make sure it’s enabled, then choose a rule mode on the Proxy page. The system proxy only affects apps that follow system proxy settings. Look into TUN if you need coverage for more apps; avoid changing too many network settings during initial setup.

Quit other clients that are controlling the system proxy before use. Keeping your original subscription URL is safer than migrating the entire old data directory. See clashplus.io for product details.

Windows · x64 · EXE installer

Clash Verge Rev

A good fit for managing subscriptions, overrides and rules from one desktop app. After importing a config, check the logs to confirm it loaded correctly. For TUN or service mode, install the service and grant permissions as prompted. Don’t mistake a permissions issue for an invalid subscription. This section provides the Windows x64 installer.

Windows · x64 · EXE

FlClash

A good fit if you use both a computer and an Android device and want a similar workflow on each. For Windows, choose the AMD64 installer; AMD64 also works with common 64-bit Intel processors, not just AMD. After importing, check the active config, proxy mode and system proxy toggle on each device.

Windows · AMD64 · EXE

Clash Nyanpasu

Includes desktop configuration management and proxy controls. If you already use this client, back up your config before installing. First confirm that your subscription parses correctly, then move custom rules over one at a time. Don’t enable the system proxy in two clients at once or have them listen on the same mixed port.

Clash for Windows

Discontinued

Archived download for migrating older setups and accessing existing configs. For new installations, choose a maintained client above. Older cores may not recognize protocols or config keys in newer subscriptions. If parsing fails, check compatibility first; don’t delete essential config just to make the import succeed.

CheckOptions and requirements
Operating systemUse a Windows version that still receives security updates. Check the selected client’s installer for its specific minimum version.
ProcessorThis section provides x64 / AMD64 builds. On ARM devices, first check whether the system supports x64 apps. That doesn’t guarantee TUN driver compatibility.
Network permissionsStandard system proxy and TUN require different permissions. Grant access as needed when installing services or network components.
First launchAfter importing a config, check the listening port. If you see address already in use, close the process using that port or change the port.

Mihomo core downloads

The core does not include a graphical configuration interface. Use a client above for a typical computer or phone; don’t treat a core archive as a desktop installer.

After installation

Get your config working
before changing network settings

The client, config and proxy service are three separate parts. A successful installation only means the app can run; you still need a valid subscription or local config. Use the client’s “Import from URL” or “Import from file” option. Once the config appears in the list, set it as active. Subscription URLs may contain credentials, so don’t include the full link in public screenshots or support requests.

For your first setup, start with rule mode. It routes traffic according to the rules in your config. Global mode only sends requests to the selected global policy; it won’t fix an invalid subscription or unreachable service. Proxy mode and the system proxy are separate settings: mode controls how traffic is routed, while the system proxy determines which apps that follow system settings send requests to the client.

If the client fails to start, read the first key error in the logs. address already in use usually means a local port conflict; no such host points to a DNS lookup issue; and i/o timeout needs further investigation based on the destination and network. Don’t change DNS, ports and TUN all at once before noting the error, or it’ll be hard to tell which setting helped.

Keep your subscription, custom rules and overrides before upgrading. A subscription update may replace the generated config file, so store long-term customizations in the client’s supported override or separate rule system. See Import a subscription, Choose a proxy mode and Port settings for instructions. For symptom-based help, see Troubleshooting.

Common installation questions

Check your system, architecture and config before switching clients.

Which Clash client should I choose for my first download?

For Windows, macOS, Android and iOS, start with Clash Plus; for Linux, consider Clash Verge Rev. To get a similar interface across devices, compare FlClash. Choose a download for your OS and architecture, then import a compatible subscription. The client does not include proxy service.

How do I choose between ARM64, AMD64, x64 and universal builds?

AMD64 and x64 usually refer to the same 64-bit Intel or AMD architecture; ARM64 is for 64-bit ARM devices. The Android armeabi-v7a build is for 32-bit ARM. If you can’t identify your architecture, choose a universal build if available. On macOS, check your chip in About This Mac and confirm the architecture of the actual download—not just the platform listed on the button.

Downloaded, but can’t install? What should I check first?

Check the file extension, OS version and CPU architecture, then note the installer’s exact error. On Android, check whether your browser is allowed to install apps. On Windows, make sure an older installer isn’t still running. On macOS, check the reason under System Settings → Privacy & Security. Don’t leave system protections disabled just to complete the installation.

Why can’t I connect right after installing the client?

The installer provides only the client. You’ll also need to import a valid subscription or local config, enable it, choose a rule mode, and enable the system proxy or authorize a VPN connection as needed. If it still doesn’t work, check the logs to narrow down subscription, DNS, local port or remote connection issues.

What settings should I keep before upgrading or switching clients?

Keep your subscription URL, local config, override rules, port and DNS settings. Store configs containing passwords somewhere secure. Quit the old client before installing or launching the new one to avoid both controlling the system proxy. Data directories may not be compatible across clients, so don’t overwrite the entire directory.

What’s the difference between the Mihomo core and a GUI client?

The Mihomo core parses configs, matches rules and forwards connections, and usually runs from the command line or as a service. GUI clients add subscription import, proxy selection, logs and controls. Choose the core package for servers or routers; most desktop and mobile users should choose a GUI client.
